In 2019, several female actresses and directors focused our interests on the creation of a feminist theatre collective. We decided to name it Vale la pena ser callejeras because we identify ourselves as women and artists which main field of work is the street. Based in Bogotá (COL), this group seeks for the unity and the acknowledge of street artists researching in feminist methods of creation, specially theatre and performative actions. Callejeras is a collective that reveals well nourished realities of how women have been essential pieces for the development of the movement of street theatre, as well as the transformation of the social fabric in Colombia.
